WINGS is the annual magazine of Santa Margarita Catholic High School, published by the Santa Margarita Eagle Foundation.
The Foundation supports SMCHS in its mission to provide an excellent Catholic education. It helps the school form graduates who are strong in faith, lifelong learners, healthy individuals, and active, responsible citizens.

If you attended Santa Margarita between 1987 and 2015, you likely remember scrounging for a dollar to buy two chocolate chip cookies at lunch—a simple tradition shared by Carson Palmer, whose journey began at the school that helped shape his life.

Tom Smith has spent 35 years at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, serving in many roles—including band director, activities director, and 21 years as assistant principal of student services—while becoming a steady, respected presence known for his humor and dedication.
WINGS Summer 2019

After 12 years as principal of Santa Margarita Catholic High School and 48 years in education, Ray Dunne retired at the end of the 2018–19 school year but will continue teaching AP Government and serving as principal emeritus, leaving a lasting legacy of instilling the school’s charism, Caritas Christi, throughout SMCHS.
